How many pieces of clothing should I send?
This heavily depends on the product you choose, but as a general rule of thumb, the more the better! For a birthday bunting consisting of 13 flags I'd recommend sending a minimum of 15 items, but I welcome anything up to 30!
Each product listing contains a segment at the bottom of the page explaining the minimum number of items needed plus any other requirements. Be sure to give this a read when considering which product you'd like to order to ensure you have enough garments to cover its production.
What type of clothing is best?
Generally, anything with a large surface area (e.g. baby grows, t-shirts, even baby muslin cloths). The more larger items you can send the better, as smaller items can sometimes not be suitable for making certain products with (e.g. baby leggings aren't wide enough to be turned into a flag in bunting).
Tiny items such as bibs, socks and hats are still also welcome as they can be used for embellishment and decoration purposes, especially if they contain a lovely motif or pattern.
If you can stick with the same types of fabrics (ideally cottons), that gives the best results. It can be hard to combine a leather jacket with a stretchy swimming costume!
Can I send fabric remnants from another project, even if they're just tiny pieces?
Absolutely! For some of the decorations and embellishments I only need small pieces, so remnants would save me having to cut into a new, full garment!
What is your turnaround time?
For the majority of products, I suggest a turnaround time of 6 weeks (just to be on the safe side), although turnaround time largely varies depending on how many orders I'm currently working on. On average, most orders are completed within 2 weeks. Larger items, such as blankets, may take longer, but I will advise you upon ordering what my estimated turnaround time is and also ask if you have a deadline to work to.
I can offer an urgent turnaround option for an additional £20, if required. This means that your order will take top priority and I will aim to have it completed and posted within 1 week (product depending).
Does the clothing need to be washed and cleaned?
Not at all. Sometimes it's nicer to keep your loved one's smell within the clothing. Plus, some stains might be sentimental too; e.g. baby's first food, or Grandma's last painting session.
Can I combine products, e.g. a birthday bunting with a name?
Of course! Simply add both products to your basket and then in the 'Additional Requests' box on either of the products, simply write that you'd like them combining to become one whole product rather than two separate ones.
Everything I make is completely bespoke and tailored to order, so if you want something doing YOUR way, go ahead and ask for it!
How much creative control can I have?
As much as you wish. You can simply send in your clothes and leave the rest to me, or you can send me a page of notes, a drawing and request feedback upon each flag before it gets sewn. You can be involved in the whole process, or leave it to be a complete surprise! This is YOUR special garment, I'd much rather it be done YOUR way!
